At some point in everyone’s life, I highly recommend and encourage completing a Whole30.

Planning, prepping, and cooking your own meals as you learn about your relationship with food can be life changing. However; not everyone is ready for a Whole30 nor is in the space to commit to the time it takes to invest in a Whole30.

Yes, Whole30 does not encourage snacking and recommends staying away from smoothies for the 30 days while doing a strict Whole30 program. The USANA scientifically balanced meal replacement shakes are not meant to be used as meal replacements long-term.

The shakes are a wonderful option for those who have been asked by their doctor to start a meal replacement immediately, are not in a position to spend the several hours needed per week to plan and prep their meals, and who needs to ensure they are getting the appropriate amount of macro and micro nutrients in their food intake each day.

The plan is also good for those who have not been able to stay off of sugar for more than one to two days before sliding back into the addictive nature of the sugar addiction. (You will be surprised to learn that most of the food you eat, including your protein sources, have added sugar.)

The shakes also work well as a jump start to any program for those who need support in balancing their blood sugar as they are working towards starting a new healthy lifestyle that will eventually include cooked whole food meals.
